Honestly, the Holocaust was so tragic that I don't understand why we're essentially fine with having more genocides happen — obviously not at the same scale but Uyghurs are still being fucked and so are Ukrainians, though obviously we do a lot more about that one.
And those are just the ones we know about.
I think there's also one in Tigray, which is part of Ethiopia, but I don't know enough to say
@Astrealix @throbbingpens The Tigray crisis has killed WAY more people than the Russia-Ukraine war but gets very little coverage in the West, despite the efforts of the head of WHO to keep it in the public eye
