So I'm running Shinobi on my Proxmox server and I managed to get it setup. However, it's far from user friendly, it's splitting the recordings like a retard and it's slow (4 cores from a 5800H with 2gb ram, only two 4MP cameras). Am I gonna have to buy an NVR or is there another service that works with ONVIF cameras?

I used blue iris for close to 5 years. The drawbacks being that it only runs on a windows machine, and that machine needs a some kind of gpu to get any kind of reasonable performance.

I switched to Unifi Protect about 6 months ago, and while it's not as powerful or feature packed as blue iris / frigate, the "it just works" feature is worth it for my sanity.
