Just a general thread about running. How's your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc.

I did my first track workout on Thursday. Felt good so went for a run yesterday. Took some wrong turns (live in a new city) and ended up doing 15 miles. Today is supposed to be my long run but I might just do a recovery run because I'm so tired!

That sounds like a blast! And a great way to explore. You’ve definitely earned some recovery

I haven't been for a run this week. Developed some bad blisters (ironically not from running) so I'm just taking it easy, waiting for them to heal up.

I'm training for a marathon the weekend after next. I'm excited for it. It's an evening event, and since the sun doesn't set till almost 11pm it should be really nice. I signed up for it on a whim last week after my long runs went super well and I felt good about my running, also after going for a few "barefoot" runs (wearing sandals), which is new for me. I ran a half marathon in my racing flats not long ago, but I think for this marathon I will stick to my regular distance running shoes.

It feels a bit weird not to be on a proper training schedule but I think my instincts are guiding me well at this point (and my endurance is still pretty high from an ultra two months ago).

I took the last week off after rolling my ankle and it feels better so I'm going to try a run out today! We'll let it determine how far I go.

What the hell watch... I'm pushing myself here, almost making 5min/km for the whole run and coming within 10-20 seconds of my 5km pb each time, and apparently I'm maintaining or in recovery....

A few features I really like in ActivityLog2 are the ability to chart aerobic efficiency over time, to do my own critical power/velocity analysis, and also just plot weekly volume (by time or distance). That way I have a multifaceted view of what's going on rather than just whatever Garmin finds worthy of highlighting.

Been feeling a little under the weather so missed my weekend run. Got out this morning though. It's getting darker and colder in the mornings here. Doesn't seem to affect how much I sweat.
