I like Guenther, but his background is not as a driver. Competitors are capable of being friends while still being highly competitive. In fact, that underlying friendship can help to keep competitors honest. There are plenty of examples in F1’s past of drivers’ dislike for one another manifesting itself in a race. Senna/Prost immediately comes to mind.
