Schroeder continues to look confused as Charlie Brown waves his hand up and down. The latter cajoles,"Wave your hand like this, see? Then say, 'Bye-Bye."

He walks off angrily exclaiming, "I give up! You can't teach this new generation anything!!"

He stops and looks at the reader as Schroeder waves his hand up and down and says,"Bye-Bye"

Charlie Brown, wearing his mitt, crouches behind Patty who is standing at the plate with her bat, waiting to hit the coming ball. He says,"C'mon! Throw it right in here....she can't hit it!"

He starts as she hits the ball with a pow.

He remains at the plate alone, watching her run the bases.

As she runs back to home, he says,"I missed you while you were away!" She smiles.

He stoops in front of Snoopy and says,"It's nice to have someone who's glad to see you...even if it's just a dog!" Snoopy sits and his ears shoot up in surprise.

Charlie Brown looks at him puzzled, as he exclaims and stalks off angrily.

Charlie Brown turns to the reader and says,"I always say the wrong thing!"

He stands on a stool and whistles as he hangs the socks on the line.

He walks off concluding,"I bet I'd make a pretty good housewife!"

As Charlie Brown lies on the ground gasping with an angry Snoopy lying on his chest, Patty points to Snoopy and concludes, "The winner!"

They walk off and Violet concludes, "Mrs. Brown must be getting careless with her washing!" The 'ghost' watches them go and shouts, "Boo!!"

Snoopy looks at the 'ghost' puzzled as the 'ghost' sits on the curb next to him and exclaims,"Rats!"

Violet stands at a knee high fence looking over into a garden. She exclaims,"What a nice garden this man has!!"

Charlie Brown, wearing a mitt, frowns as she stoops and looks over into the garden. She asks,"Isn't it wonderful, Charlie Brown?"

He frowns at the garden and replies, "I think it's a waste of good land..."

He walks off with her following him. He concludes,"He should have built a ball field!"

He listens questioningly as the girls appear on the beach and Violet asks,"What's that floating in the water, Patty?" Patty replies,"Maybe we should call the lifeguard..."

He grimaces as one of them concludes, "I'll bet it's a beachball!"
