Basically, what Anime do you find yourself really enjoying and coming back to, but you don't really ever get to recommend because it just isn't actually that great by any measurable standard, or is just so niche that nobody else actually cares about it.

Personally, I make this post after my meatspace friend caught me binging arpeggio of blue steel for the millionth time and joking about how it would be my favorite show if it weren't for all the actually good ones. Boat laser go brrr, I guess

I love harley by far my favorite DC character, Never thought I would see an Isekai from DC.

I just started Oshi no Ko with not much expectations. About 40 minutes into the first episode I thought, damn this is a pretty long one. Turns out it was an hour and a half introduction to the actual show. What did you all think of the episode? Did you watch the rest of the series?

I get that you can't really compare the 2 shows 1 to 1 as the overall story-line and themes are different but both of them being cute girl band shows and which is executed better is something to discuss.

I love the songs from both bands, but the personality told from the Bocchi the Rock songs is better. Bocchi actually made me want to learn guitar and start a band. How the song construction is interwoven with the plot is beautiful. The K-On songs' lyrics are just so freaking cute. I love singing along to them they make me feel warm and happy.

The cast of K-On and their interactions and moments shown in the show is excellent. The K-On cast has great on screen chemistry, I love them goofing off, playing songs together, eating tea and cake. The moments seem so pure and loving.

The development focus on Bocchi for the show makes the other band members feel like side characters and like Bocchi is a stranger in her own show. Also most of the interactions feel uncomfortable which I get is part of Bocchi's journey but everything seems to have to revolve around her.

The main criticism of K-On has always been "it has no plot" or "it has no point" which is stupid because obviously it has to have a plot to have anything happen. That being said, the plot doesn't have many huge leaps or character development arcs. (besides maybe the ending 😢)

Bocchi the Rock solved this by focusing mostly on Bocchi and I can't argue with their decision. Watching Bocchi grow as a person is really inspirational and is excellent to see.

Right now, I still have to say K-On overall is better, but I still love Bocchi and think both are very enjoyable to watch. Can't wait for the Bocchi movie and season 2 hopefully I won't have to wait too long!
