So, I'm sure this is an annoying and difficult question to answer, but I figured I'd try anyway. I've used Google Chrome for most of my life, but I've seen many people say that it's absolutely terrible in this day and age. I'm not a very technical person, so I'd preferably want something that mostly works right out of the box. Some of the browsers I've been looking at are Librewolf and Brave. As far as I understand, Librewolf is more privacy-focused, but Brave has a far better looking UI. Librewolf is also based on Firefox, and I'm worried that it will be way to different compared to Chrome. So, any suggestions? Sorry if this post was unclear with what I want in a browser, because I'm not really sure what I want myself. Privacy seems good, obviously.

I'm using Sidekick (kinda temporarily til I find something better) and I'm going to make the switch to something else temporary asap. Every little thing is starting to get paywalled off. At this rate it won't be long until it's entirely a paid app and the company shutters because no one fucking pays for internet browsers. ESPECIALLY $60 per year or whatever the hell subscription they're charging. I_think it's a bit more actually.

the worst thing - this just happened. Literally attemptin to switch tabs got me a blocking pop up for about a minute stating that these features are only for pro users. What features?! Multiple tabs?! they have trashed the already mid browser they created and it certainly won't be getting any better the more they squeeze out of the free version

A while back I decided to start using Firefox as my main browser. At the beginning, it seemed to be incredibly barebones and almost empty in terms of appearance customizations. Like, it doesn't even have the option to change backgrounds, which I found to be kinda stupid. After some research tho, I discovered the world of Firefox css customization utilizing userChrome.css and userContent.css. To put it simply, it allows users to change almost every single aspect about how the browser looks utilizing css files, something I have not found any other browser to be able to do.

There is only one small issue though, actually many small issues. Firefox seems to have many tiny quarks which together negatively affect my experience with it. For example, many times while changing tabs in the browser it ends up breaking, as in the tabs become unclickable and the only solution is to restart the browser, which isn't that bad in itself, but coupled with some other gripes, it kinda messes with my experience a bit too much.

So basically, I want to know if there's any browser out there that mimics the freedom of customization of Firefox by either an external css file or at the least a wide array of customizability options in the settings.

I am a browser user with basic web surfing features. I am a fan of Brave and have used it for a long time because it helps me block Youtube ads well. But the experience of using it was quite bad because after I used it for a while, my laptop would heat up and it would start making noise. My friend introduced me to the FloorP. All operations are fast and smooth like Brave, but more specifically, during the past 2 weeks of use, I have never encountered my laptop making any noise. I'm quite impressed with FloorP tho :D

I am currently using Chrome browser on Android and I am getting fed up of almost every website I visit having auto play video ads on top of the content. This tactic has increased massively in the past year or so. I'm concerned that when I go abroad this is going to eat up all of my roaming data.

I have looked into several alternative browsers that allow adblocking such as Brave, Vivaldi etc but I can't get used to the UI.

Mainly I'm just looking for one with a UI similar to Chrome with the address bar, new tab and home buttons at the top (no extra clicks) and the home page needs to have a Google search bar and the news feed that you get with Chrome. Ideally 8 "most visited" pages on the home page as well or customisable shortcuts.

Maybe I'm asking too much. Does such a thing exist? Basically I just want Chrome without the ads making the experience miserable.

I actually like Vivaldi but it's not perfect, such as no news feed on the home page.

I've been looking for such a browser for years now. What I want is something of a hybrid of Firefox and Brave. As much as I like Firefox for its customization and sync simplicity, gecko engine has issues - pages break, YouTube stutters and lowers the quality from time to time. As much as I like Brave for it's performance it too has issues - sync chains suck ass, customization is dogshit tier.

What is a chromium based browser with a cross platform option (Linux and Android in my case) that actually provides uBlockOrigin level of adblocking? The old names in the business - Edge, Chrome, Vivaldi, Opera and all the offshoots of Firefox have really gone stale. Did anything new appear in the past two or three years that I just hadn't heard of before?

i recently had switched from firefox to brave.

this decision was quite bad.

the translator on brave barely works, the download manager is pure dogshit literally i download a 23gb + file, brave is stuck on "done" and firefox just completes it after like normal. there are much more things, like brave being slow sometimes.

i last used edge as my main browser around this time last year,

i care a bit about privacy, edge is microsoft, google is google, microsoft is microsoft so idk if its worth switching to edge.

I've been working on this free Chrome extension, Tab Keeper, which is essentially a tab session manager that I hope makes everyone's browsing experience a tad more organized and seamless. Hi,

I use Incognito a lot to browse without my history being saved, or without being accidentally logged into some internet account that records history. What is the best browser for anonymous non-recorded browsing as opposed to Google's Incognito? I would like it if it has a VPN built in like Opera but it's not extremely important as I could just use my own VPN.

I will try Brave since it's been suggested here.

Like the title says, I’m looking for a different browser. I’m on windows 11 desktop PC. Firefox recently has not been loading pages but other apps that need internet work just fine. I’m tired of it. It seems just like Hollywood movies where everything happens in US only, firefox is launching all new features for US only , the new entrant is the shopping feature (fakespot) which is available for US users only and the developer has also confirmed in the bug, besides this other features like address autofill, mozilla vpn, credit card autofill , pocket stories( useless still) etc are not available in india and many other countries..in public they claim many things but at the end of the day their target audience is US users only! Highly disappointed with this mindset and I am thinking to switch to another browsers..despite many bugs and missing important features, I was loyal to firefox but today it broke my heart😐
