Hello everyone :)

I'd like some advice about what and/or when to plant my stuff for this season. Im in the Mediterranean so keep in mind we have hot, humid weather, and quite a bit of sun even now in October, but for a couple months namely December and January it can drop to around 0°C and will rain fairly often.

That being said here is a list of things I would like to grow:

  • parsley
  • onions (bulbs in water container filled with soil with holes cut for it to sprout)
  • basil
  • cherry tomatoes (previous two tries failed. Third is the charm?)
  • lettuce
  • radishes
  • ant type of mild pepper as im just now getting started with eating hot (suggestions appreciated!)

Having in mind my general climate, what would be your recommendations for these? More or less when should I plant them? Lettuce I can get ready to harvest once its the time btw.

Thanks for your wisdom D 🥬🍃🌱

It's been maybe a month since I posted my original photos of my Fourth of July tomatoes and forsythia plant. Here they are now! Still surviving despite several weeks of 90+ F weather and some weekends away, neglecting to water them.

Serious growth has occured after two applications of Miracle-Gro

Got some wilting from lack of water :( But most of it has recovered, amazingly! (The forsythia is bomb, btw. It's a tank, it's taken the lack of water like a champ)

Money shot

We've had a bee coming and going throughout the past few days.

Here I have two Fourth-of-July tomatoes, named because they produce fruit very early in the season, and one forsythia. It's supposed to be a small variety and I wanted a bigger one, so I am keeping it in the pot until I find another good place to plant it.

Hi all! I’m new to container gardening and still figuring things out through lots of trial and error. For those of you who have had success growing tomatoes, which varieties do you prefer? Any advice for pruning, fertilizing, etc?

I’m currently growing Brandywine Red, Better Boy, Husky Cherry, and Yellow Cherry. I also have a Rosella sprout in the aerogarden that will hopefully be ready for transplant in the next week or so. They’re all doing well health-wise, but I’m wondering if there’s anything I could be doing better to increase yield.

Thanks for any advice you can offer! 🍅

Hey everyone, I just woke up and went to water my plants, and I noticed 3 caterpillars on my parsley. I dont want to unnecessarily kill them, but also I don't want them to wreak havoc on my little garden, so what should I do?

Update: when i tried to move them i only found one. I moved it outside, but i read that this species feeds in groups. Not sure what the implications of that are. Hope itll be ok

Anyone have any idea what this is and how to heal it? 4 of my 10 tomato plants have this, and they're the smallest. Is it just genetics?

Hey everyone, let's get a thread going to share images of our little green corners. In my case its on my balcony, and since I've started growing stuff I actually enjoy sitting out and chilling on it :)

Some of the cherry tomato plants on my balcony. If anyone knows why the ones in the back are growing much faster than the ones in the foreground please let me know. All were planted on the same day, and transplanted on the same day, and get watered equally.
