Hi,

I have a computer with Fedora Silverblue, and Steam installed through flatpak. It works mostly fine, but very often it freezes after waking from suspend.

Is there anything I can do about that?

Hi all. I was hoping someone knew of some good resources on troubleshooting problems running games in Wine. How to identify a problem and steps to take when things don't work, or partially work.

For example I use Lutris to install/play my GOG games. One game, Temple of Elemental Evil, seems to be picky about running under one version of Wine or another. It seems to be happy running under lutris-GE-Proton7-43-x86_64, but crashes on startup on any other version of lutris-proton I have tried. It also won't work on the regular lutris, or fshack versions. So why this one in particular? I haven't done anything to it to make it stand out. But I don't understand enough to identify what is going on.

Or if a game simply won't run at all, I can look at the error logs and sometimes identify what is keeping it from running, but don't know what to do to fix it. For example Soulbringer opens an initial configuration window before launching the game, but when I click play, nothing happens and the error log says "PATCH.DLL" failed to initialize.

Was just hoping for a good resource to help me understand how to diagnose and fix these problems when they come up.

Thanks!

It's still some ways away with the NVIDIA 535 driver series currently in beta but with the NVIDIA 545 Linux driver series to succeed that there will finally be support for Vulkan games/apps running via PRIME for GPU offloading under Wayland.

Five years after NVIDIA launched their SHIELD 'Thunderstrike' gaming controller, they've recently been working on upstreaming support for this controller -- and other possible NVIDIA Shield peripherals -- via a new Linux kernel driver

When I first installed Mint I wasn't really sure what to do. I knew gaming on Linux was good and steam has come a long way with proton but I still wanted to see what the software manager had to offer for games.

A couple of them looked like cute little time wasters but I saw OpenTTD and I recalled the Spiffing Britt did a video about that game once before. I decided to download it and I've been addicted to it ever since.

Every aspect of it is enjoyable, but I really found the trains to be the most fun part of the game. Something about setting it all up and just watching everything move along with purpose. It's just so satisfying to me.

Not sure if you've tried it, but it's worth a shot in my opinion. Make sure you download a graphics pack if you're not into the old school look.

Hey all! What have you all been playing? I've been tinkering with my migration to Linux so I haven't played much, but I'm looking into starting Morrowind.
