I've been running Valetudo on my Roborock S5 for some time with no issues. Recently I decided to change the voice pack, so I used the option in the Valetudo GUI, however noticed that most of the packs advertised for the S5 just do not upload. The ones that do don't seem to have full coverage, and leave a lot of the default voice lines (Chinese) in tact.

These packs from dontvacuum.me and this GlaDOS voice pack do not upload at all, and when I check the logs in Valetudo there's just a generic error that provides no real detail.

These packs will upload, but do not provide full coverage, and most are not English.

Does anyone know how to get these logs to work via the GUI? I don't have SSH access to my vacuum anymore and I don't feel like going through the initial steps again if I don't have to.

Matter Support (lemmy.world)
submitted 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) by FerNZA@lemmy.world to c/roborock@lemmy.world

So far I could only see matter support officially announced for the S8 MaxV Ultra.

But when the matter 1.2 standard was announced I read in one of the articles that the S8 Pro Ultra would get it. I have not seen an announcement on that at all.

I would have thought that this would have been a much bigger deal at CES but all the reviews have just mentioned this in passing. I have been holding out until matter support came out and used my cheaper robot vac till about a month ago when it stopped working. I am sweeping daily now and I can't seem to keep my house as clean.

The only one's I have seen with matter support so far is: -Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra -Switchbot S10

But more might have been announced in CES that I didn't see.

Fast Route Routines (lemmy.world)

Hey everyone. Is there a way to make a routine that uses the fast route? Or can I only use fast routes when I manually tell the robot to go clean?

I ordered the Q Revo with Prime Day discount last week and I'm so happy with it. It replaces my aging Roomba i7+ and Brave jet m6.

Probably the biggest difference I noticed is how much better the LIDAR mapping works compares to the VSLAM on the iRobots. If I remember correctly, my floor plan of like 900 square feet took over an hour to map with the iRobots and then it would still get confused if it was too dark. Compare that to the Roborock that only took like 10 minutes to map the same thing.

As for cleaning, the vacuum performance on carpet seems about the same and obviously the spinning mops are way better than the spray and push of the Braava.

And obviously having the water tanks and mop washing in the dock is just the cherry on top. Manually changing the pad and refilling the track of the Braava every time was kind of annoying.
