Any bets on origin? Ww2? Ww1? USSR cold war? Russia today? Black flag op from MI6?

This one is pretty wild, I bet we don't get to find out

Four captured in 2 days. The suspicion is that more are out there still. Celebrated by most, so it slightly surprising to see this Guardian piece not talking much about the benefits and abundance of deer in Scotland

It's been a long road to this opening. Here's hoping it makes a real difference as a lot of time, money, and political capital has been spent on it

Too cool a story to not post, long may the Lynx live and evade capture. Kudos to the releasers

Some more broadcasting news for us this week. The other story I liked was that the Edinburgh Filmhouse is commencing work this week to bring it back into use, yay! But the dochmentary:

Part one of Wildcats: Cait ann an Cunnart will air in Gaelic with English subtitles, on BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Wednesday, with part two set to air on January 15. Click here to watch live or on demand.

Hard to see this bucking the live news in decline trend. And it still isn't the 6 o'clock slot. And it's also competing against the excellent c4 news now. And it's still got the same anti-scottish government editorial team which doesn't hold the UK government to the same level of scrutiny.

But it is a better move than 'The Nine' and good to see them try again

Incoming snow (mastodon.art)

It's Sunday and there's only snow in the news. Which isn't news in January in Scotland. So here's a great photo from Paul Henni. The sky being darker than the mountains and the loch make this a great composition, almost b&w before being shot like that

Pretty despicable that the universal service obligation hasn't been extended to the big couriers imo. Evri should be getting heavily fined, but instead these villagers will have to muck around with each retailer, who then have to get evri to refund/return stuff

Seeing as there's some excitement about public domain day, here's some already publicly accessible data I stumbled across today!

Yes, the time between Christmas and new year is known as "the daft days" in Scotland. So who's got something daft to share this Friday night?

36 miles in 15 hours, only 2107ft of elevation though. Anyway, seeing as it's now boxing day - here's some inspiration for yous to burn off that turkey
