The network rivalry between T-Mobile and Verizon is alive and well, as evidenced by the latest Opensignal reports on 5G experience and coverage.

Verizon beat T-Mobile in the 5G upload speed category with a score of 18.5 Mbps, breaking T-Mobile’s streak of seven consecutive wins, according to Opensignal. T-Mobile's score was 18.2 Mbps.

Verizon is at it again, expanding 5G upgrades to more cities and states in recent months. Over 200 million people across the U.S. can get connected to 5G Ultra Wideband. June saw a large increase in places receiving upgraded connections for 5G and 5G Ultra Wideband and Verizon is still working on increasing coverage while upgrading service throughout the rest of this year.

Is anyone else looking forward to Verizon's Implementation of 5G Standalone and Network Slicing?

Per Fierce Wireless it appears we are a lot closer to seeing larger swaths of commercial traffic being loaded onto Standalone than initially thought at the start of 2023.

Coupled with the cband clearing 2024 should be a pretty interesting year in the Telco space.
