Could the Russians stop invading another country's sovereign land?
They have no sovereign anything. The US took that from them when they overthrew their democracy in 2014.
Unlike Russia, Ukraine actually had fair elections.
Nope. Ukraine has not had elections.
In fact, following America's Nazi coup, the Ukrainian Rada voted to reject the illegal ousting of Yanukovic. The US ignored this and put their puppet in power anyway.

The only one preventing Ukraine from having peace is Imperialist Russia invading them.
Pootin can end the war any second by retreating troops out of the lands that are not Russian, but they don't because Pootin is an imperialist warmonger, hell bend on restoring the USSR. Even if it means destroying Russia and surrounding countries in the process.
There would never have been any invasion if it wasn't for genocidal USA's warmongering via NATO, the world's most aggressive and murderous military alliance.

As long as the "peace deal" involves "give us your land" then it is not a peace deal, it is extortion.
They already took the land. The peace deal involves not throwing 50 year olds into killing fields just to lose more.
