Thank you for the informative response. My mail goes through to gmail protonmail and others without issue, so maybe opensmtpd has these experimental features baked in. I haven't gotten any spam yet (in years, for some reason), so I haven't configured anything in spamd at the moment; I almost wish I could get spammers to attack my server so I could actually learn how to properly block them.
