Pholiota squarrosa, ~~apparently they're 'edible to some,' whatever that means..~~. Wikipedia says they may be toxic if you consume them with alcohol.

Edit: do not eat these. They're poisonous.

Interesting I thought it might be a Pholiota but I never heard of eating them.

Well, I just checked my national audubon society book, it says they're poisonous. I'd trust that as the final authority.
