MODERATORS
I worked for the mobile industry for 6 years. This is how I roll. Strong, thick case for my phone. Doesn’t need to be name brand but a decent quality. If the cases claim they are waterproof put a paper towel inside the case and spray it with water. Make sure the towel stays dry. If you really want to be sure, put it in a sink full of water overnight with a cup on it to hold it to the bottom.
I’ve found glass screen protectors to be useless as long as you don’t have a bunch of crap in your pocket with your phone. I also don’t have any insurance on my device. Most modern glass is very scratch resistant even if you’re a bit harder on your devices than average users.
Most phone you buy new are vastly overpriced. So unless it has a feature you can’t live without. I always buy 2nd hand phones that are about two years older than the current year. Fair price, most bugs are worked out at that point and most issues have been discussed about that device on various forums. Also it may be jailbroken already if that’s something you’re into.
