Also for bags or boxes the box is the same size, but there is about 1/4 less in it. Yet the price is twice as much as before.

Had a look at the Christmas chocolates, same thing with all of them. A box of chocolates is pricier than ingredients for a full meal for a family. Which are expensive too.

A few years ago before the inflation hit Finland's leading chocolate maker altered their gift box design while also completely coincidentally reducing the amount of chocolates in them by like 1/4

When they were asked about it they were just like so-true "the consumers wanted more impressive boxes to make their special occasions feel even more special"

Fazer? I just saw the boxes today sold at about 6€. Funnily this is also one of the OG fash families (Whites) with firm ties to Germany afaik.

I'm pretty sure you used to be able to get 3 of those boxes for 10 euros around Christmas not too long ago. I remember because they were a simple, cheap present agony-wholesome

Can't believe a guy like this would be bougie as fuck

Pretty sure it was like in 2021-22 when it was always 3 for 10€. Now it's two for 10€ on sale, lol.

I really really dispise how hard Fazer has been able to build the brand on banal nationalism. Not to mention how hard they go on exploiting cheaper manufacturing countries and still have those outrageous prices. The laskiaspulla and runebergintorttu for example are all made in other countries, frozen and then sold here as "fresh". With twice the price of local bakeries.

I could do a huge rant on how Fazer and a few other essentially monopolies have destroyed our bread culture and small bakeries here, but I'll save that for another day.

To be completely honest, I very rarely buy anything from Fazer and when I do, it's the few of their chocolate and biscuit brands that I happen to like. Definitely not any of their breads and other baked goods though, that shit costs an arm and a leg. It's all the cheapest shit from Lidl or Prisma for me 😎

spoiler

I prefer Marabou's milk chocolate anyway

Yeah I make my own bread now. I did that for a living and now it's turned into a principle, lol.
