I don't really know what to make of this. It reads like it's a standalone mobile game that just happens to use the same setting. Is it just an attempt from square enix to go after that mobile game money? Or am I being to cynical here?

Definitely no cross-save, it wouldn’t be called “Mobile” if it had it.
