Here's what happened. Fortunately, there are few enough ballots that we can look at it pretty easily. There are two steps to STAR voting. First is the scoring and then the runoff. Here are the ballots for the category (I narrowed it down to just those two candidates, the full list of ballots is here):
Scoring Round
This simply totals up the points earned for each candidate to select the top two scorers to move on to the runoff. Looking at the ballots above, Fran & Teacher win this round.
Runoff Round
This round looks at all the ballots and counts the number of ballots that prefer one of the two runoff contestants over the other. So, let's look again at our ballots and see which one each prefers:
So, tallying up who is preferred among a larger portion of the electorate we get 3 voters prefer Karion & Urion, 2 voters prefer Fran & Teacher, and 1 voter has no preference. So, Karion & Urion is the winner.
So now @Mercuri@ani.social just need to find who gave Fran and Teacher a 0 and Karion and Urion a 1.
