usa putting their soft power through the wood chipper. I'm amazed at how short sighted trump's team is.
American farmers are going to get screwed. If there is no money for the UN to buy food the market will be over saturated and prices will drop.
I think the effects of an American pull out will be less significant than the funding numbers. So much of that aid money gets funneled back into the us economy. The interim period while prices and funding gets rebalanced will be rough.
Don't be fooled about this. It's not about dismantling their soft power, but reorganizing it into their new vision and making it "more effective". Maybe it backfires but it most certainly isn't just getting rid of it.
And another part of this is that the previous regime was using a lot of this soft power against the people of the new regime, meaning they will tear the tools that have been used against them, and other tools that they feel are the same regardless of if they are, and then they can focus on their own social media networks.
