I feel like if Embracer is involved, there's gotta be some kind of nefarious plan behind this. Embracer is one of those companies that buys out studios and shuts them down. They are the the source of the enshittification of video games.

If I'm not mixing up the ownerships, Embracer is owned by UAE royalty? Far as I know, many MMO and mobile games "whales" hail from there and their enjoyment of video games is genuine.

So this effort might be sincere, but it may also be them trying to pwn some noobs in some way.
