I was pretty into flying back when whoops were new but stopped for financial reasons. Recently, friend got his license and I caught the bug again watching his videos.

Got this Mobula7 and have been having a blast. My old box headset has an awful receiver but I got a crazy deal on some Fat Sharks that should be here soon.

I also just moved to a place much better for flying - I can fly to a park without passing any private property.

I've been binging Joshua Bardwell's videos and, of course, already thinking about what I want to buy next. Thinking about a monitor or a second cheap headset for other people to watch.

I haven't geeked out this much on a new (or rediscovered) hobby in awhile and instead of spamming my friend, I decided to post here and maybe get this community going.

Anyone else on Lemmy into quadcopters/FPV?

I know nothing about it but always thought it was really cool. Post as much as you can about it.

It's surprisingly inexpensive to get into all things considered! You can get a small quad like mine, a transmitter (controller), and some box goggles in a bundle for like $300 from betafpv. Or even less if you buy things separately
