Can I have the features I wanted from 5.1 available in more devices now?

Like what? I only use BT for Android Auto and I'm otherwise oblivious to it so I'm asking in earnest

Broadcast aka "Auracast".

Basically I'd like to be able to buy any recent BT headphones or speaker and be able to:

  • subscribe to gate announcements at the airport, and
  • try to set up multi-room audio, even if it only works for me, when my phone is in range of whichever speakers.

I heard about this stuff before it was released and I was like "Wow that's so cool! There are so many applications for it!" But since then all the device makers have been like "Wow that's so boring, I definitely don't want to use that - or if I do, just use the name for some marketing bs but never actually implement it properly"
