I mean......you're not wrong. It's just the reasons for that are unrelated to this story, and more related to his alcoholism, narcisism, and never ending quest to control the narrative of any situation he's in regardless of if that narrative hurts those he claims to love. But hey, he bought you chocolates that one time 4 years ago, so that makes him a good person. And if you don't like it, you can get out of his house.
