My current job is ok but it's not exaclty wwhat I want to do long term. I'm not good at programming, but I do want to work on it. In the mean time I'd like to go into cybersecurity, however I'm not sure where to start and if it would be a waste of my bachelros in C.S.

You could get a few certs to see if you like it. Security+, CISSP, and Certified Ethical Hacker might be some good starter certs.

CISSP is not a starter cert...

CEH is also not really a starter cert, it's like mid weight on the knowledge scale

S+ is a starter cert.

He has a computer science degree. Those should all be starter certs for him.

I have a CS degree, they don't teach you anywhere near what is appropriate for the secops world. College is a basis but it cannot teach you experience.
