So the issue is not with Bernie being there, but that a resolution was passed welcoming Bernie to the city without full public notice and such.

Even ignoring the pettiness, the headline is framed in a way that sounds like Bernie will be under investigation. As opposed to the truth, which is that some local officials might get a slap on the wrist for an ultimately meaningless gesture.

Republicans in my state, Wisconsin, passed a law in 2011 that also violated open meetings rules. That law destroyed public sector unions. No substantive punishment ever happened.
