Agreed, and I like anime, but the word "emoji" is just so grating to me that I can't do it. Still find it easier to just type :) too instead of finding the dumbass picture button on my phone. I use them on Masto because my instance has some good custom ones, and even then rather than go through the menu I'll type the :jrbd: real fast.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize tennis rackets, piles of shit, and eggplants were Japanese characters, never seen em used before.
