Rupaul can be/is quite shitty

The commodification of drag is pretty gross to an extent too

There's also some unease between parts of the trans community and parts of the drag community. Which, fair enough, if I were a trans woman and after explaining to someone my lived experience, they responded with "Oh like on Ru Paul!" I would be pretty devastated. That being said, my personal experience with drag IRL has always been a wonderful and inclusive space, with men, women, and non-binary people all being heavily featured as drag performers in my community. I can still understand some people's discomfort with it, though, even if I don't necessarily agree with their conception of what drag is.
