Flaky Ecolink Flood Sensor (self.homeassistant)
submitted 1 year ago by rcv to c/homeassistant@lemmy.world

Hey All, I bought an Ecolink Flood sensor (model H214104 from Amazon here) and have it connected to my HA server through a Zooz ZST39 LR.

The sensor worked for a while, but has been super flaky for the past week or so and refusing to update its values. It's now also showing 0% battery, even though it's brand new, pings just fine, and was at 97% battery a week ago.

I tried excluding and re-including it a few times, and also tried the mysterious "heal node" and "re-interview node" buttons in the Z-Wave JS UI with no improvement.

How do you all go about debugging ZWave devices? Any tips or tricks I can try?

FYI for anyone interested, I'm using the flood sensor in conjunction with a smart outlet to control/monitor the sump pump in my crawl space. When it works, it works great!
