I've thought about it, but the GrapheneOS dev seems more and more unhinged the more I hear about him, not a huge fan.

Yeah, I'm really glad that I didn't get a Pixel. Because I was going to get it for this very reason. Having software releases controlled by a schizo does not appeal to me at all.
Sucks, because GrapheneOS seems like a genuinely good piece of software, and probably one of the most usable Android-based OSes out there. But I just can't go forward with it, knowing how the dev seems to repeatedly make more and more enemies. I do not feel like I can trust him for the software to remain as good as it currently is in future.
Was kind of looking into something like this too: https://skysedge.com/unsmartphones/RUSP/index.html but I worry about potential compatibility issues with my area; however, I'd definitely be interested in it.
