NASA open to extending ISS beyond 2030 (spacenews.com)

I feel conflicted on deorbiting the ISS at the end of its operational life. It is showing its age, and newer space stations will be no doubt be better, but it seems a shame to lose such an iconic piece of history.

I wonder if it would be possible to preserve it in space as a museum for future generations to visit. Thoughts?

Look, this beauty offers 1,005.0 m3 (35,491 cu ft) of pressurised volume and an unbeatable view. You have perfect privacy, since there is literally no sound transfered from or towards the station and basically you can just open the door, fall forward and boom you're in the central Bay Area. And if you can get a better deal there, call me, because I want in on that fantasy!
