Whether it be electronics, automobiles or medical equipment, the manufacturers should not be able to horde “oem” parts, render your stuff useless if you repair it with aftermarket parts, or hide schematics of their products.

Fun fact! There are phones now that have great water resistance ratings and removeable batteries. Fairphone 4 is ip54 rated. iPhone 15 is ip68 for comparison. While Fairphone is technically worse they're both not "waterproof", just "water resistant". Also, Fairphone is much cheaper with more freedom with their degoogled android experience.
