Some users wonder if the dev will be charged for having it still up, others argue Reddit can't charge him without having signed a contract. Everyone is confused as to why the API change hasn't made it inoperable.

Why is Boost still working?

Is this only happening for Boost?

RIF works if you're logged out. Logged in you get a 429 error.

Apparently not, as someone else mentioned Relay is still running as well.

[–] zalack@kbin.social 4 points 2 years ago

Yup, Relay is working fine for me. The Dev said it will remain free through this month and then switch a subscription.

Joey app and developer are excellent. The UI customization and theming features are superb.

It's only working for me if I'm not logged in.

[–] eggest@kbin.social 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Huh, it seems to have logged me out after the 30th and is still working now.
What does this mean though? Don't want the dev to get charged

[–] lackadaisy@kbin.social 0 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Yeah I remember how they tried telling the Apollo dev that the bills won't be due for 30 days so that was like giving them more time. I'd expect that any apps that are still open are going to get a bill in a month.

Narwhal is still open too, I pulled up a list of my subreddits to look for equivalents.

You can't just charge people out of nowhere when they didn't sign a contract and blatantly did not consent via their announcements their apps were dead

[–] 1chemistdown@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Narwhal announce they had worked out a deal with Reddit

[–] Kbin_space_program@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Yup, working for me not logged in(because I deleted the accounts.)
