Paladins can make holy water by blessing it. They inadvertently made the vampire's snot into holy water, blowing the party's cover.

In 5e, the more problematic part of a paladin making holy water here is the use of 25gp worth of powdered silver in the liquid (which doesn't actually hurt them more in 5e, just in classical folklore)

True, though nobody specified the edition or even that it's D&D specifically besides the use of "DM"
