Thanks! I'm on desktop and was successfully finding communities in search, just unable to join them - maybe it's finicky right now. I was finally able to join !main@midwest.social and !gaming@midwest.social under this account, but wasn't able to earlier. Opening any links (including from search) to community sites under the midwest.social instance would sign me out.
