So this is causing a lot of controversy and I thought it was worth a discussion.

Honestly, I think Rory is wrong, but only slightly. What Xhaka did wasn't unforgivable, but it was unforgettable. I personally think he should've been sold immediately. But the reality is that he wasn't. He was kept at the club and he was allowed an opportunity to grow as a player and to be part of our best season in years. I dislike people acting like it was a non thing, because our club is special. I heard someone earlier mention context and yes, he was receiving some abuse he didn't deserve to. But he was part of that, his subpar performances and lack of discipline. But football fans are fickle. We're renowned for having short memories. For some integrity isn't a factor and the respect for the badge is only as tested as our last three points. That all said, what's done is done and no matter what side of the fence you stand on, class is part of our Arsenal DNA, so even if we frown upon all that happened, we'll still thank him and wish him the best.

What is this toxic post? I thought we left this kind of nonsense behind on reddit.

Is this actually worth a discussion? He’s gone. His arc with our team is over and he clearly left on a the high note for his 7 years at Arsenal.

It's not worth discussing, and ppl like them are part of the overall problem, yet act all high and mighty while regurgitating this nonsense.

The only response these people should get

What are you even talking about. You're literally being the epitome of toxicity that we all hoped to leave behind.

So because you disagree with something it's toxic and you're going to lazily label it so instead of having a discussion and respectfully putting your point across with your fellow community members?

The fans absolutely have the right to discuss players past and present and no one has to act like the sun shone out of anyone's arse. Do we have to be respectful about them? Yeah. We have some class. Do we have to lie to ourselves or one another? Nope.

The reality is, is that through no fault of his own, Xhaka was played out of position from day one and wasn't very good at it. But he was great in training and had a great personality, so managers liked him and never made it a point of urgency to replace him. This ultimately cost them all their jobs and limited our ability to perform.

That said, when he was finally played in position he was decent. Not world class but decent and the fact we're able to cash in on him is amazing.

Anyway, please don't do this stuff where you don't like something so you try and label it in such a negative fashion. You're better than that.
