Apple Vision Pro launch pre-view testers complain about weight, comfort, even headaches::Reporters given pre-launch access to the new Apple Vision Pro have reported concerns with its weight and comfort, with at least two writers reporting notable discomfort using it. While there are undoubtedly positive experiences to be had with the product, it wasn’t just discomfort that was problematic.

Not shocked about the headaches (happens with most of the headsets), but I'm a little sad about the weight issues. That sucks - I'm an Android user but I was hoping Apple doing this would lead to some Android development in the same space

I feel like there’s just so much crammed in this thing it’s going to be heavy right now, but if you look back, they used to be massive and heavy and have continued to get lighter and more compact. Give this a few generations, and I’m sure it’ll lighten up a bit and get thinner.

TLDR; never buy the first generation of anything.

The Quest is Android.

What do you mean? Are you hoping google will get into the VR space directly?

Pretty much - or Samsung, Xiaomi, Nothing or any of the other Android brands

The quest, Pico Neo, HTC Vive Focus, Lenovo mirage, and nearly every standalone VR headset uses android though. There’s way more dev going into android based vr software than anything.

I guess I'm moreso hoping the brands get in - specifically Samsung, Google and the others I listed. I think it would spur on a lot of new development in that area which is always a good thing
