there is a charismatic russian with serious testicles attempting to run against putin. i remember reading this challengers name means 'hope' in russian, and he has a small chance of getting the signatures he needs to be on the ballot.

i would bet this is an attempt to discredit this specific individual

He isn't in prison.. yet?

Edit: It is suspected that the Kremlin occasionally allows opposition candidates, for a number of reasons: 1. It may be an attempt to show that elections are legitimate and Putin is not just running alone. Or. 2. It's a way to judge public sentiment or track regions and communities that are starting to oppose the government and Putin. At a minimum, it's an efficient way to help create targeted propaganda.

Sure. You can vote in Russia, but it's not for the reasons that you think.

He fall out of window on 13th of march, will be tragic, will be missed.
