How do pirate? (lemmy.world)

I'm moving in a week and changing my ISP, so my plan is just to pirate a few terabytes of music and games on this IP and dip out. I've never pirated anything before though, what's the easiest way for me to do this?

I don't know where you live, just wanted to say if you're dabbling in this new hobby, make sure they're not keeping logs after your contract ends. Your IP of today might still be traceable back to you, if they keep the logs for a fixed time after the contract ended. Or use protection.

I live in the US, what do you think are the chances I'll face repercussions for a a terabyte or two of music and such? I just set up proton VPN and I'm using utorrent.

μtorrent is full of spyware. Best to use qbittorrent. But as long as you are using a reliable VPN (like proton) and for added security have it attached to your torrent client's kill switch, you'll be fine.

Thanks, I'll try qbit then!
