The point is the future.
Some people just dropped 50k or more on a car and are worried that the NACS change will mean they'll be chained to 200 miles of their home once chargers are switched to NACS.
The availability of support for the many pre-2025 MY cars is a big deal - and availability of adapters is important.

Who knew that in just a few months, CCS went from being a major player to an afterthought

There's zero people that are worried about NACS except Tesla fans pretending the connector is a meaningful component. Every CCS equipped EV owner in North America is aware, or will be aware, that adapters from NACS to CCS Combo will be available.
