This isn't the best article, partly because it makes it sound like you have to use CoreOS. I'm running podman via quadlets on Fedora, but you can use it on anything running systemd.

Anyway, I really recommend podlet to help with writing/converting. It can:

Generate podman quadlet files from a podman command or a compose file
