If they don't recognize the state's authority why stop for some silly flashing lights in the first place? Surely the Sovereign Citizen will make their point more clearly by not acknowledging police at all.

They should speed up, not like speed limits apply to traveling.

What does Covid-19 have to do with the signature?

[–] RampageDon@lemmy.world 43 points 1 year ago

You don't have to sign those tickets, but if you don't you are usually held in jail. I can only guess that this policy maybe changed during covid conditions, so the police signing (covid 19) as the signature is maybe an indication of no signature but also why they weren't taken to jail? Who knows though.

The covid pandamic caused lots of places to operate differently and some of those changes were actually improvements so they've stuck. Jurisdictions where people were asked to sign tickets suspended the practice during covid restrictions and I'm sure it's a hell of a lot easier that way.

Ah yes, the police, famously known for changing their minds on the spot and backing down from arrests because of things you say to them

The police are easily swayed by bonkers sovcit logic and are totally open minded to other perspectives, you bet.
