The two week old article is about a recent event that occurred within the last month, here is a section of the article:

Published 12:05 PM EDT, July 14, 2023

A Capitol riot suspect who had guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in his van when he was arrested near former President Barack Obama’s Washington home has been indicted on federal firearms charges, authorities said Friday.

If posting an article that is older than two weeks is considered "old content" deserving of being removed, then the rules on the sidebar should represent that. I'm not sure which mod removed it so I'm making this a general post instead of talking to the mod that removed it directly.

Its old enough, and its clearly shit stirring at this point.

If two weeks is too old of an article to post, then what is the actual limit? And why is it not a rule on the sidebar?

I thibk the real issue is that you're just a troll.

You're clearly not conservative, and you're posting old "gotcha"s to the conservative community. Whats next, you're going to start posting "We really got Trump this time" articles? Its clearly not in good faith, otherwise you'd post it in the appropriate communities. Or you'd find something actually interesting to post.

You’re clearly not conservative

The rules don't prohibit non conservatives. The mods here have explicitly said non conservatives are permitted.

you’re posting old "gotcha"s to the conservative community

It's an from two weeks ago about a Jan 6er who was caught trying to kill Obama/his family within the last few weeks. Its not old. And I'm posting these things because otherwise this place will be an echo chamber that never hears of events like these.

Whats next, you’re going to start posting “We really got Trump this time” articles?

Your assumption that I would do such a thing is closer to bad faith than anything I've posted here. It's better to judge somebody's actual actions than the ones you think they're going to do based on your own biases.

Its clearly not in good faith, otherwise you’d post it in the appropriate communities.

See my above point on echo chambers.

The rules don’t prohibit non conservatives. The mods here have explicitly said non conservatives are permitted.

Firstly, I'm not the mod that removed your post.

Secondly, yes, non-conservatives are welcome but if your entire purpose here is to stir the pot then we will have to evaluate each blatantly non-conservative user on a case-by-case basis.

Non-conservatives ARE welcome in the spirit of encouraging open and honest discourse, something that is hard to find formerly on Reddit, and now on Lemmy. Non-conservatives will not be welcome if they're rage-baiting, trolling, or pot-stirring.

Furthermore, judging from the types of things that get reported on here, there is a site-wide issue where non-conservative users come here and report and downvote every post. I do not understand why someone that is not conservative would venture into a conservative community and get mad at the posts there, but as long as the posts and comments are in line with general conservative talking points or conservatism in general, it will always be allowed here. This is not to be confused with very blatant bigotry whether that be racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. which is NOT allowed. That said, the people submitting reports here seem to confuse "I disagree with this" with "this is bigotry".

Everyome has seen dozens of article about jan 6. Its old news. Its the same vein as

See my above point on echo chambers

The entire site is an echo chamber, or at least the political subs are. Hell, lemmy itself is made by tankies.

And as soon as a conservative community is made, we start getting old gotcha shit about jan 6.

Everyome has seen dozens of article about jan 6.

It is not an article about Jan 6. It is an article about somebody previously involved with Jan 6 attempting to commit a crime 25 days ago, and the article was written 10 days ago. It was 23 and 8 days respectively when I initially made the post.

The article is not about the Jan 6th attack.
