Yep, real smart. Trump is definitely going to help progressives.

What a joke. Until the US moves away from first past the post were in a two-party system.

I mean, I get the disenfranchisement. It hurts.

But these people either don't understand the election system, or don't care about the insane damage a shift to the far right at multiple levels the US is facing of we don't stand up to MAGA again in the general election at every level.

I'll firmly support anyone running on a democratic-socialist platform in the primaries, but pretending they don't need a "D" next to their name in the general election is just stupid.

Until we fix how voting works in the US, this is the reality.

It's a shitty system that's run by billionaires, but you still have to make a logical decision.. I mean eating Arby's is bad, but eating shit is worse.

Progressives need to take over the Democratic party the way the MAGAs took over the Republican party.

But you do it by challenging them in the primaries. They have to be afraid to lose their seats.

Ok, there's one problem, which democrat running for office is even anti-war/anti-imperialist/anti-zionist? We saw what happened with Bernie. We saw how the Squad became tools of the democrats. PSL even endorsed Bernie as it would have helped revolutionary cause down the line, which unfortunately the ruling class realized this and did all they could to make Bernie lose. So what are we left with? Fascists and fascists enablers which support and are supported by the ruling class. The video even mentions this.

Bernie went for the top slot, I'm saying that if we want change, we start by running a primary challenge against all of them. Every House and Senate seat. Nobody should be safe.

You can make a difference running in local elections (mentioned in the video), but you still don't have to run under the democrat party. The Squad were not running for President, and they still were co-opted into betraying the working class. Look at AOC.

You are not going to be making Democrats shake in their boots if you play by their rules in their party. We have to organize as a working class. Elections are just the best time to get people involved as more people are paying attention to politics. Voting isn't going to do anything anyway, especially this election. We need to build a working class party, like PSL, for example, to bring class consciousness to the working class in order to be able to make effective change in the long term. We have been playing the bourgeoisie's game for so long, and these liberal elections are rigged against us. Help in mutual aid, attend party events, unionize your workplace, protest against transphobic bills being passed in your state...there's a lot more meaningful work to do right now no matter this election's outcome. We need to be organizing as the working class regardless if Biden or Trump is in office if we want to have a chance for humanity to overcome potential extinction. It's going to be a rough road ahead anyway, so be prepared.

You aren't going to get anywhere unless you run as a Democrat or a Republican. Full stop. You might get on a local town council as a Communist or something, but if you actually want to change things? Pick a party.

Look at "Independents".

Out of 100 Senators there are THREE who don't identify as Democrats or Republicans. One of them will be gone after the next election and frankly, she deserves it.

435 Congressmen. All of them are Democrats or Republicans.

I don't disagree that both main parties are just puppets performing for the same master, but voting 3rd party is still participating in the system they have designed with the same illusion of choice, which is missing the point entirely. Still do it if you can, it's literally the bare minimum, but don't expect it to achieve anything in its own right, because it won't.

The point of pointing out the illusion of choice is for people to realise that the whole thing is a sham - elections are theatre to keep the population from turning on those actually in control - the rich. Pinning all your hopes on elections and elected representatives in a system designed to work for the benefit of a group you don't belong to, is never going to help you out of it. This kind of thinking is still falling in to their trap.

Voting for a 3rd party, no matter what it's called is a vote that helps the GOP win.
GOP=Fascism
If you HATE your freedoms, you should vote 3rd party/GOP.
