Why is the BBC reporting on this like it's a scandal?

Dog isn't even in the White House anymore.

[-] MotoAsh@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago

Because the BBC has slowly became a tabloid and not a respectable news organization.

I'm what universe is this news, let alone global news???

[-] RedditWanderer@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

It's the tan suit thing all over again, the GOP platform of us vs them. Now theyre going to make some silly name they can belittle him with, which makes the dim feel special.

[-] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Because small light-hearted news pieces are a new thing.

The world of 2020 before anyone knew what dog Biden had. It wasn't good news then, but at least it was news.

So after a minute of trying to parse this, I assume his dog is named commander? Or did Joe bidens dog commander, I. E. A person who commands dogs, bite his colleagues?

[-] GreenAlex@kbin.social 14 points 11 months ago

Option 3: the dog is a commander of other dogs. My beagle gets orders from him at least once a week.

[-] BrikoX@lemmy.zip 9 points 11 months ago

The dog's name is Commander.

Why did your dog bite all those people, Joe?

[-] Potatos_are_not_friends@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Also weirdly coincidental is that the US Commander is named Dog! But it gets deeper. He's actually a bunch of cats in a trenchcoat!

I made all of this up don't fact check me

That's my least favorite option

"Despite additional dog training, leashing, working with veterinarians, and consulting with animal behaviourists, the White House environment simply proved too much for Commander," a statement said.

Welp. I can kinda imagine how that could happen. Just a lot of chaos and people running around and no space to get settled for a dog, maybe some unpleasant interactions, and maybe just not a dog temperament suited for this.

Just like a tootsie pop

[-] darkphotonstudio@beehaw.org 4 points 11 months ago

At least Biden wasn't the one biting them.

[-] Jaysyn@kbin.social 3 points 11 months ago

Probably just the Trump sycophants. No big loss.
