Very cool!

Can you give any more info on how you created the pattern? It looks like you made it tesselate... is it just the same pattern 4x over, or is it non-repeating? (I have a thing for non-repeating patterns, like Penrose tiles and similar.)

Also, in one of the photos it looks like you're using some sort of sealant over the cut face. What kind of sealant did you go with? I've noticed that laser cut wood tends to be really sooty/dirty on the cut edges, presumably sealing it keeps the soot from rubbing off on people's hands/clothes in the future. At least... hopefully it does?

I made the pattern in stable diffusion using the repeat x and y options. I loaded that into photoshop as a pattern and then made a canvas with the size of the piece and filled using the pattern.

I used contact paper over the wood so it didn't get too sooty, but I also cleaned up the pieces lightly with a toothbrush and a little water (I think). Polyeurathane over the top for the gloss and protection.

If I did it again, I would cut the pieces so they 'connect' together like puzzle pieces somewhat to help with application.

Glad you liked the project!
