It's all about decisions...yesterday I knew didn't have a lot of sunlight left in the day and was going to take a ride to see the (LEO) Long eared Owl but decided to stay local. As was talking to my friend John, I saw something flying in the field. told him Happy Easter and walked across the street. At first l thought it was two female Northern Harriers fighting over a vole. I looked at the photo I had just taken and realized it was a (SEO) Short Eared Owl which WAS sitting quietly on the ground with its meal. As the Harrier came towards it, the SEO was defending its prize..I captured a cool shot of the two fighting..the upside down owl with the Harrier on top. If I hadn't stopped, I would have missed this completely!
