My first ever Black Templar is done! It was a lot of fun to paint. I wanted to do a kind of old, weather beaten look with a leather cowl and stuff as well as some extra little bits an pieces. I didn't have any transfer sheets so I just freehanded a roughed up mark on his pauldron.

Constructive criticism would be awesome! This is my third space marine so far and I think I'm learning a lot each time.!

That shield is so baller! I've been trying to figure out a good way to do dust for some of my minis, did you use pigment powder around the feet or something else?

My main criticism is the feet don't seem to sit right with the ground. The gaps make it look a bit floaty. Very minor detail though and especially from most viewing angles it won't be visible at all

Thanks! The shield was really fun to paint!

Yeah, I used pigment powder, but I have also tried using crushed up pastel sticks and that seems to work well too.

Good point! I had positioned it so it fit, but then I added the grass and realised I have covered the bit where it sits right haha.
