I've seen a lot of bands in inexpensive venues over the years.
Same here. Saw Horsegirl last week and Chat Pile next week. Under $25 per show. There are still plenty of good and cheap shows but people these days need a whole day's experience so they can flex on social media, rather than what a concert is supposed to be.
Gimme Puscifer in a shitty historic theatre any day and I'm happy. Last show I saw was Metric and it was awesome. You barely even get shafted on the booze price, mostly the lack of quality.
I agree with your point but you should have comparerd the ticket price with the minimum wage and see the percentage of it to make a better comparison ..this method should result the the same outcome but would be more accurate.. IMHO
Fit For An Autopsy was around 20 bucks in today's money. Concerts are cheap when it isn't a worldwide super star with a stage bigger than my house.
Capitalism is making problems in a lot if ways, but tickets for Taylor Swift's concert is not really one of them. Additionally others on the list were also in capitalism.
Go support some small local bands.
The artists have some control. They could opt to make their tickets non-transferable. I doubt Ticketmaster would let that happen.
But artists are awfully quiet on the matter and let Ticketmaster be the bad guy while some portion of the fees are definitely going to the artists. Especially an artist like Taylor who is smart and has actual power.
