I built this lovely bastardkb skeletyl and initially used a bit with miryoku kmk. I noticed for whatever reason that sometimes the right side hung up and now after flashing the latest kmk it does not seem to work at all.

It is well soldered and I somehow believe it's really a kmk issue - followes all the rules for Split etc. I often also had little timing issues with the hold-tap behavior which is really non-existent on zmk and other boards for example.

Long story short: I am using waveshare's rp 2040 zero in here and would want to try out another firmware for miryoku. I will need to configure the board pins, it's hand-wired. What can you recommend to get it done with minimal effort?

QMK?

Looks awesome! Loving the bright blue filament and keycap color choices. I've wanted to build a skeletyl for a while now - this post might just push me to do it.

Whatever you already know would be minimal effort i assume.

I personally like ZMK better, cleaner config file and nicer features for me (mainly combos and mod-tap stuff).

will zmk work with the rp2040 zero from waveshare? it's not ble/wireless here...

ZMK works both wired or wireless, and also on the RP2040. 👍

Edit: I seem to have made up the wired part (wishful thinking?), see below.

Maybe their FAQ is out of date, but this says that ZMK doesn't support wired split keyboards (yet): https://zmk.dev/docs/faq#does-zmk-support-wired-split

¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid
